I've rediscovered the joys of making lino cuts... so I've been busy turning my maps into prints.

Gloomfest, Brixton Village, 29 April 2010

I showed my maps again at a pop-up art show in Brixton Village (aka Granville Arcade). The exhibition formed part of Gloomfest - the inaugural Thursday ‘Night market at Brixton Village’ on 29 April, curated by Feeling Gloomy, the world’s first club devoted to sad music. There was much fun and cake to be had, from teddy bear racing to Gorilla twister and learning how to play air guitar.

I've uploaded a video of the closing scene of Disembodied Voices from my Platform One Gallery performance on the opening night last autumn. You can watch it on YouTube.
Many thanks to Talitha who filmed it!

CAMP show, Old Street - during the day

London ii: Lasercut perspex map

London i: Rice installation

Crochet drawing of Old Street: I crocheted the streets of the East End as far as Canary Wharf (the big loop in the bottom right corner) and drew the crochet... which pulled and twisted the streets in various directions. Old Street is in the top left corner (honest!)
The materials reflect the origins of the space and the area. The rice in the installation piece alludes to the former Chinese restaurant where the CAMP bar now is (and the Vietnamese restaurants in the area), while the crochet refers to the big textile industry in Shoreditch in the 17th century.
This is the original crochet:
